Science Wiz

Science Wiz is built upon inquiry, experimentation and play! Each Course, students will dive deep into one of the following scientific concepts: electricity, inventions, sound, energy, physics, light, DNA, magnetism and more! Student will receive their very own Science-Wiz™ kit to explore fundamental scientific ideas through hands-on play and activities and conduct experiments, many of which they will bring home to share with family and friends.

ScienceWiz Course Table
Grade Level Subject
K–2nd

Inventions

One of the best parts of science is the fact that it enables invention! This course gives students a glimpse into the workings of common electronic components, and guides them through the process of building their own working inventions.

K–2nd

Magnetism

Students use high quality, color coded, SAFE ceramic magnets to draw with iron fillings, discover what sticks to magnets, levitate and bounce rings, play with magnetic poles, and more!

K–2nd

Physics

Blast off with Newton’s laws of motion, and prepare to excel in Physics! Develop a fundamental understanding of inertia, the laws of motion, centripetal force, mass, weight, velocity, and acceleration. Concepts are covered with time-tested experiments and highly visual illustrations.

K–2nd

Light

Students learn about light by splitting light into rainbows, molding lenses, making a microscope and telescope, capturing a shadow, and more!

K–2nd

Chemistry

Candle making, water squirting, freezing, thawing, glop, and mud pie experiments – things every child should do to explore the matter of matter!

K–2nd

Electricity

Students learn the basics of electricity by building circuit loops, spinning motors, lighting lights, buzzing buzzers, sending coded messages, testing conductivity, and more!

K–2nd

Collision

Students will explore collisions with a Newton’s cradle, build and aim a catapult, lift off with stomp rocket science, make the rocket go the farthest, collide collision carts, ram barriers with marbles and carts to explore momentum and paint with pendulums.

3rd to 5th

Rocks

The history of our planet is written in the rocks! This course connects the earth’s crust to real rocks, and uses exciting eruptive experiments to foster comprehension.

3rd to 5th

Sound

Students learn all about sound by building a working Edison style phonograph, recording and playing back sound recordings, measuring sound with a decibel meter, testing their hearing, and more!

3rd to 5th

Electric Charge

In this course, students build six different devices to explore charge, and conduct conductive experiments!

3rd to 5th

Chemistry

Students know the alphabet… now they get to learn the Alphabet of the Universe! In this course, students split water into rocket fuel, pop hydrogen, hunt for naked protons, and more!

3rd to 5th

DNA

Discoveries in molecular biology are among the most important scientific advancements of our time. This course makes the DNA revolution accessible with fun experiments like extracting DNA, solving chromosome puzzles, and making forgery-proof DNA ink.

3rd to 5th

Energy

Students discover what energy is, how it is generated now, and what choices await us in the future. During the course, students get to participate in a variety of experiments, including spinning a flywheel generator, storing potential energy on their heads, and building their very own solar cars to join the race to save the planet

3rd to 5th

Heat & Temperature

Thermodynamics here we come. Heat transfer is a hot topic, indeed.Explore how to use of thermometers led not only to the discovery of invisible light (infrared) but also to quantum mechanics! Make your own heat pack, expand and contract and repair with heat, learn about absolute zero and more.

3rd to 5th

Electronics

This kit is intended to be a gateway to a large number of STEM careers: from home repairs, to car maintenance, to handyman, to electrical engineering, to computer engineering, to building neural networks, to robotics and bioengineering. This kit is packed with parts. Everything you need to start tinkering: buzzers and motors, alligator leads and LEDs, a multimeter, a breadboard, transistors, resistor, capacitors and connectors.

3rd to 5th

Cells

This kit includes a breakthrough clip-on microscope that let you observe and record in time-lapse video on a digital screen as you prepare a microscope slide step by step. Record as the nuclei of your cheek cells stain blue. Discover what makes a cell, a cell. Use bubbleology to understand the plasma membrane and more.
